Adsense - Other Payment Options?

Trouble With Adsense

I've been reading about a lot of people having trouble with Google Adsense and their payment options.  Having the only payment option be by checks seems like a little... last century, since now banks can automatically pay your bills, buy that new book off of amazon, or lend a friend money, right?  Many people online have complained about this before.  Well, I've found a solution.

After a little bit of googling, I discovered Google's Adsense has a new payment option, called Electronic Funds Transfer.  You just go to the following link, https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=15920, and follow the instructions; they look a little something like this:

1) You enter your bank account information.  Google tells you to go into your account details and click the Payment Details header.  Under this header, you'll be able to add a new bank account.  You just fill in all of the required fields and then some, and click save changes.

2) Google will deposit a small test deposit into your account to see that the funds got through.  You're not supposed to check your account for 4-10 days because google says these transfers take some time due to buisness days and other whatnot.  The transfer should be labeled one of these:

  • AFS RE GOOGLE
  • AFS RE GOOGLE ADSENSE
  • ARVATO FINANCE SERVICES LIMITED
  • BFS FINANCE LTD
  • CITIBANK IRELAND FINANCIAL SERVICES
  • Google AdSense Payment

Just for clarification, I copied that bulleted list directly off of their page to avoid any chance of typos.  Typos on something this sensitive would be bad.

3) Once you've found this deposit, you navigate back to your account page on adsense and click the Payment Details option and enter the test amount that was deposited into your bank account.  If you have entered it correctly, it will be approved.  The last thing you have to do is select your bank account as the default payment method.

They have an additional disclaimer that I feel worth mentioning.  If you were to change this before the 15th of any month, the check might still come and EFT not be completed.  For example, if you wanted your August earnings over EFT, you would have to complete this by September 15th.

I hope this guide helped whoever read it immensely, as I would have liked to have it in my searches, and that you do not longer have to wrestle with getting checks to the bank through what may be atrocious weather or a long drive, and you can have the comfort in knowing you are paid automatically.
